When you have replaced your ev2s in the past, did you replace both the sending unit and gauge, or just one of them? Im wondering if the sending unit is bad, or gauge is bad.....
Can you even just order a trans temp sending unit without the gauge?
Because it wasnt burnt and didnt stink like burnt oil. My gauge said 230 for over an hour, so I would assume that there should have been metal stuff in the fluid thus being non bright red after being that hot for that long.

Tried it both ways same result. No, as far as I know you can't buy just one or the other. When I first bought the gauge it went out within months and ISSPRO sent me a new box, after that they wouldn't do anything.
I wish I would've switched brands right then.
Cheap Glow shift temp gauge here. 5 years. No issues.
Also have a EGT.. no issues with that either.
Dad has same set up in his. Same time frame. No issues from his either.
I also have a glow shift on the door post. It works well, but has a black face, and if I had to do it again, I would buy a white face. Glare just kills it sometimes.
I've been having problems with mine too. It finally just stoped working. I called ISSPRO and they told me it was then sending unit, which they quoted me at $40. I got the part number of R5628. After hearing this I wonder if it is the sending unit. Is there anyway to test the gauge and sending unit?
I'm buying the new Glowshift Towmax gauges soon. All electric senders and VERY good prices on them. Three gauge set (under dash mount) for about $325 (all electrical!), and that is a fantastic price. I checked reviews on them on other sites, and they seem to be much better than previous Glowshift gauges.
My trans temp gauge is goofy too, its an ev2. Reads 30 degrees hotter than the fluid really is, and goes nuts from time to time. Ive checked the wiring, and cant find any reason for this behavior.......interesting

Who are you guys talking to at ISSPRO? Here are some contacts that will likely be able to help you with any issues you may have. I have always heard great things about their customer service and have seen Michael_ on here as well you may try PM'ing him or sending emails to Joe CSIPSDgaugepro@ymail.com or Michael michael@isspro.com
I believe they are the EV1 but not sure. All I know is I have replaced it several times and have the same problem after a while. Needle just starts going crazy and after some research I have found I am not the only one.
Funny thing is I have Pyro and boost with no issues, but that trans temp is ridiculous.
If I had this issue, I would check my wiring every step of the way. A bad crimp, a loose ground, a chaffed wire, or any number of things can cause this. When you replaced the gauge, did you rewire it as if new... or just plug in to your old connections?

Jason, you can fix it real cheap [LINK] I bought this software and I set the alarms on all my gauges where I want them, programmed the backlights, and you can adjust the range on the gauge. The hardest parts? Figuring out the quirks of the software (there are some instructions on Clay's site and I can help), and breaking plastic off the back of the gauge to get access to the programming connector. It's really not bad, though... you can get a preview by looking at woodnthing's instructions.

The 30 degrees hotter is curious. How did you discover that? Hotter is better than cooler I guess.
Both answers combined here. Get the very inexpensive interface kit above to program the backlight, and really check all your wiring. The gauge would do the sweep thing if it had intermittent power or ground anywhere... or low voltage (as in a weak connection).
