Aftermarket tach's are generally pretty easy to install. There is a hot wire and a ground. Then there is a wire that runs the internal light to illuminate the gauge at night and lastly there is a wire that runs off the negative terminal on the coil.
So the "hot" wire goes to a switched 12v power source. the "Ground" wire goes to ground. The "light" wire goes to a 12v source that illuminates when you turn on your headlights and the last wire goes to the negative terminal on the coil.
