Can anyone recommend a good diesel shop in the south bay area? I am getting a bad engine vibration when it shifts into overdrive. (03 F250 6.0l) When the truck is in lower gears and the RPMs are around 2K the vibration is mostly gone. Seems like an injector issue, but I really have no idea.
south bay nor cal? do you have any gauges most of us use a scan gauge II from auto zone ford x gauge will scan and look at all of your sensers plus some, very handy tool for the 6.0 s. sanjose or more inland? Blades has the 03 so lets hope he will chime in let me know your city if yall cant come to a conclusion.
call 4 jr have you done the noted
1. OEM fuel filters
2. drained water separator
3. OEM oil filters
4. checked oil level
5. cleaned ICP senser
6, cleaned MAP senser and tube
7. IPR and check the screen
8.( EBP and Tube).
IF you have a gauge look at
ICP,MAP,IPR
sorry guy lots of things to look at but icp and Ipr would be the first .check the tech folders icp and ipr will be under the turbo down on the block.
thanks for the advice - I replaced the IPC sensor a few months back, but I will definitely follow your tips on the rest. If none of these fix the problem, do you agree I should have injectors checked? (again - not throwing an engine code so I'm not sure) I have heard Raineri's is a good shop if I need one, any others in the south bay area?
I know a 4" downpipe can rumble on the intake manifold when in 5th gear low rpms. i wrapped mine up with the old heat shield and that 'drone' went away. But if shes idling erradic your probly on the right track with injectors
call4jr, I would think If Inject you would have a contibution code, the pipes could be like ride deisel had mentioned, you really need to scan gauge this there is so many sensers in our trucks , ICP do you have oil out of the plug side if not pull it and clean it up with carb cleaner also the plug too they get a little greazy ,you can do a test wiggle the connection and see if truck does what your saying ford sells a pig tail, next would be MAP and connection to the EGR cooler that little hole gets plugged, when was the last time you pulled the EGR they get pretty gunked up when you pull the egr put new o-rings back on her.now you have some home work lol
