2013 Knee-deep BS thread!
Morning Don, Charlie, Pat and Allen.
Foggy here this morning. The sun is trying to burn through. It looks like a "harvest moon" right now. It's supposed to be almost 70° today and tomorrow.
Taking a quick break from work. I've got a deadline to meet today and I'm really trying to make it.
Catch up with everthing later.
Got to make some phone calls in a bit this morning. MIL got a registered letter from some outfit in San Diego yesterday right after my wife left her place that has darn near put her in the hospital with a complete break down. It was addressed to both my wife and MIL since my wife's name is on the property with my MIL.
It was a Lien "pre" notice from the company in San Diego that an outfit from Seattle on behalf of some concrete outfit in Forest Grove could be placing a lien on her property for construction concrete, grading and fill materials ordered by the Seattle outfit from the Forest Grove outfit, should she and my wife fail to pay for the construction material. To avoid the lien she should make the check for payment out to all 3 named parties. No amount is listed.
Wife has left an hour ago to get the letter and should be back shortly. Not sure what is going on or why as there has been no construction at the MIL's, but as upset as my MIL is, someone is going to get an azz chewing in Marine D.I. fashion!
Lotsa this going on, we got a letter from a "collections agency" claiming we owe outstanding debt to century link from 6 YEARS ago!..............Nice try scamsters.
Have a great day guys! Heading to the shop to do some more body work...........
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Scam was my first thought. But, with the MIL's dementia and being real close to not being able to live independently anymore, we don't need these #$%## people pushing her buttons and I am going to go after them with a bloody vengence.
The letter does look legitimate and like something that shouldn't be ignored. All of the official USPS stuff for Certified Mail along with $3.56 postage.
What is getting me is there is no dollar amount listed, however the companies that are named are all businesses with web sites and are listed with the Chamber of Commerce.
The address on the letter is non existent. The listed physical address should be in the middle of the street to the east of the MIL's property, isn't that interesting. They have my MIL and wife's first names butchered and the PO Box was done away with 2 months ago. Too bad that town is small enough where everyone knows everyone..............the Postmaster should have just returned it as "no longer at this address" instead of bringing it over to deliver in person.
Long story short, there should be two letters coming to me rescinding the "right to place a lien". San Diego has a very upset and incompetent Supervisor and "Documents Research Specialist".
Seattle has a Supervisor who is probably wondering why she just didn't go to the mall and skip coming into work this morning. At least she agreed that perhaps they should perform a performance review (like they really will) of the California Company they have do their wet work for them.
The Forest Grove Company has no idea of what is going on because they have no record of my MIL or wife's name or address. The only building site they delivered concrete and forms material to in Carlton is an entirely different address and is under a local Contractors Name, not a property owners name. The materials were delivered 3 months ago - and they have been paid! This is the only person I talked to today that seemed to have half a brain!
I'm really putting my blood pressure medicine to the test this morning!
