Well guys. Looks like I'm single again. Wife popped the "D" on me late last night. Been filing the papers today. Man it's a lot of BS to go through. Hopefully I'll be able to keep everything. We've already came to terms fwiw, but doesn't mean much till it's on paper or completely done with.
Sad news Derek. Been there, done that, twice........
Not an easy thing to go through, but if ya need anything just ask. Even if it's just somebody to yell at........
Thanks Don. It's hard to keep it together. The Labs are helping. Why can't people be more like them.
It was completely out of the blue, we were making her post grad plans and general plans for the future. She's always been a kind of distant person and a bit aloof, but didn't think anything was wrong. She's staying at her moms now. I kind of feel a bit used. I supported her greatly through the last 5 yrs and now that we're coming to the next chapter she just up and quits.

Women accuse us guys of being cold and unfeeling, yet they seem to take the cake at cold, calculating, shredding of a mans life.
my first wife did that to me. not fun but i made her pay for it and not me. i didn't even have a lawyer. she was the one that screwed it up. and i didn't. so i wrote up a few words on a paper that i made her sign and i had it notorized to make it legal and binding. her lawyer read it and told her he's within his rights. basically i just walked away and started over. it took me a few years, but no alimony at all. and we have been friends for years. after all that. and we both have remarried since then. so not all divorces go bad. our judge that gave us ours said it was one of the easiest she had seen in years. and told us both to have a nice life and try to get along. and we have. and were friends still and she has met my wife and they get along just fine. i don't talk to her all the time. but its casual when we do. and were always welcome at her place. and that was in 94 when our divorce was final. so its been a few years. i guess my bottom line is be as nice as possible. and things may turn out better.
sorry derek. nobody has to go thru that! and yes it hurts. i never want to do that again. i work hard for erin and she loves me dispite that. and i will love my wife till the day i go bye bye. and hope i have many years with her.
So if you put her through school, you just may be able to get her to pay you back. Usually spousal support goes from a man to a woman, but if you were working and put her through school, she can be told to pay you what it cost to put her through school.
Only a small consolation like that, it still sucks to love her and realize she was doing that to you.
Hang in there Derek.......After my second divorce I swore off all woman. Then I met Melody. Three months later we were married, and we celebrated 40 years together last year. Your not the first to put their wife through school, then get tossed away. I had it happen to a very good friend. He worked two jobs to put his wife through school, then through grad school. The day she graduated he was served with divorce papers. She had it planed all along. Time to move on and find a REAL woman......
Crap......I hate meetings, and I have two today. One with the base LLC, and one with the county court..........sigh...
