I was looking around LMC trucks and i stumbled across a Throttle Body Spacer, i read a bit more on it and its suppose to increase power and mpg. I posted this to see if anyone has ever had it on there truck, and whether you gained power or not, or any feedback. Thanks heres the link Truck Parts and Truck Accessories
Pretty much useless. The argument can be made that it lengthens the intake runner which increases air speed and therefore, torque, but the increase is so minuscule in comparison to all of the other variables that affect power, that it's pretty much useless.
There's no replacement for displacement. An engine is a big air pump. Pump more air, and you will move more quickly. Many ways you can do that. Open up the intake and the exhaust. Larger valves or a cam that keeps them open longer. Bigger bore and stroke. Lighten up all the rotating/moving parts so they can spin/move faster. Add forced induction (turbo or supercharger).
It all boils down to how much you want to spend. TANSTAAFL. There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.
Some good ways to pick up acceleration are a lower gear, 4.11 or 4.56. Smaller tires also increase acceleration. So if you're going to put in a 6" lift and 35" tires, you're working backwards. All kinds of engine performance upgrades like ported heads, exhaust headers, better cam, etc would also help.

When i run the lift and bigger tires, wont 4.56 or 4.88 gears help with the take off, and acceleration? Especially with gears like the 4.88s
IMHO, MY first suggestion is to do a 6 LITER TUNE UP !!! It's listed on FTE or FSB (full sized bronco) follow it to the letter !!! then when you're done with that.... install an electric fan... (mine is from a 98 Windstar) many write ups are here on FTE and FSB also !!! with the E-fan install it would be a great time to convert to a 3G 135 amp alternator set up !!!
The alt. and fans can be found at your favorite "PICK A PART" or JY of your choice... WELL worth the time and effort to do there installations !!! Do what I did and ask around here on FTE and get another opinion/perspective on those changes !!! Good luck with the project !!! Dave

Idk what you've got for gears right now, but if you have 4.10s then 4.56 will only get you about even to what you have now. And just having bigger, heavier tires will slow you down, along with the decreased aerodynamics of the lift. I know you've started all kinds of different threads, and they all ask the same thing differently. You want to make a truck that can be real big, and go real fast. And I know several people have told you, you can't do it all with one vehicle for very cheap. If you wan't the truck to be fast, you need to lose a lot of weight, and keep it low, with little tires, if you want it to be big, that's fine, but to do both with one vehicle isn't the way to do it. Go fast in a mustang, go big in a truck.
Anyway, like oldmongo just said, the 6liter tune up is really something to look into. I did it on my truck and picked up a mile per gallon, and the throttle response is a lot better.

A free way to add a tad of NOTICEABLE power is to simply bump the timing up from 10* BTDC to 12-13*...
Takes about 5-10minutes, a wrench and a timing light...Simple as that...

Did you ever try the throttle body spacer afterall?
