i have 03 f150 5.4 and was wondering if anybody has installed a throttle body spacer with any success and mpg increase/decrease hp gains and so forth and what kind of spacer was used thanks again yall
I have been reading other treads where members have they installed them it would be nice to know if they work and how? I understand how they work on the strait up and down trottle bodies better draft is it the same for the sideways throttle body?
i installed one on my 01 4.6. i pulled it off for a larger throttle bodie. as for the spacer. i got about 1 exta mpg but no exta power. the tb gave what i think was a good power increase at about 2500 to redline.
where did you get the bigger throttle body and how much, what nake brand? You did not say whether the new throttle body gave better gas milage or just more power?
I have a TB Spacer on my 03 4.6l. Not too much change. All I have really noticed is a whistle at certain pedal positions. It can get annoying if you can't tune it out.
Ford-fanatic73 save your money, I bought an airaid throttle bottle spacer, it lasted about a day, it just whistled, and no power increases. I didn't have it long enough to notice a gas milage increase. If you decide to still get one take lancekilgore's advice and turn up the radio.
thanks for the info 1mpg is better than nothing and how big was the spacer, how big of a tb did you put on and how did that perform thanks guys and keep it coming
i got one by jet. it is made a little different from the airraid. i had on whistle at all. that why i got the jet. i put on a 75mm tb form bbk. i get better throttle response and the power really comes on at about 2500 rpm.
I haven't tryed the spacers due to hearing they aren't worth the time. I do have a 75mm BBK tb. It helped my power & my mileage is better too. I can't say the tb did it. I added headers at the same time.
I modifed mine to match the tb size. I ported the elbow. It may not be necessary but I was racing my truck back then & I wanted all the power I could get.
