Front Brake Pads

What front brake pads are recommended for the Ex. I previously bought some bad ones so I thought I'd ask for recommendations here. Thanks, Max

I'd order silver zinc plated drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads as part of the set. Often priced very reasonable and free shipping.

I am not a fan at all of drilled rotors. In my opinion, it's a waste of a good rotor.

You'll find a lot of us like the Hawk LTS pads. EBC makes an EXCELLENT brake pad too. I've always wanted to try a set of EBC's.

I bought the Power Slot rotors and Bendix pads for the X and they work great. I bought the power slot rotors and EBC yellow pads for my F350 and those are also great. The rotors on my X were warpped so thats why I upgraded.

I also never had such a sweet set of front disc brakes on a truck.

My friends use EBC on their trucks, but I've had fantastic results with OEM pads. I put on a set at 88k with them not completely worn out due to going on a long trip and didn't want to worry about them. The ones on there now have 99k miles on them and they still have over a quarter of the pad all the way around. I don't tow that heavy with the X anymore. That might change my mind. Whichever you use, you may want to change the rubber lines out too as they have a tendency to get mushy and swell under heavy braking when they get older.

Or the next step up is the Hawk SuperDuty pads which work great with heavy loads AND just empty, daily driving.

I just installed a set of Brakemotive drilled and slotted rotors with the powerstop ceramic pads. Done the bedding process and the beast stops on a dime. I am thoroughly impressed with the stopping power it has now. It stops better than my 1/2 ton Dodge Quad cab.

I concur. I have the same drilled, slotted rotors with ceramic pads from Brakemotive, and all I can say is WOW! Stock is NOT good enough on these. The difference is night and day between stock and what I am running now.
