Forgot to plug in the other night and tried a start at temps somewhere between -25 / -30 deg C. It really turned over slooww. Did not start but I did not push it.
Plugged in for 2 hours and started no problem. I think this truck will start without plug in down to about -20 C.
Have dino oil in it as well. It would have likely turned over faster with synthetic and maybe started.
Otherwise runs very well when warmed up. Manual transmission is a PITA in the cold but not as bad as the old manuals from decades ago.
I start my 350 without the block heater in the mid minus 20s now and again. Glow plugs a few times for about two minutes then crank and cringe at the noise the motor makes when it fires.
