49 F1 spring

Anyone ever replace the stock eye bushings with newer rubber/poly bushings on F1 springs? Or, who might supply replacement springs with newer style bushings?
My hangers are shot and have some slop so maybe changing the spring bushings will help with the ride. Can't find new hangers, no one stocks them any more.
Thanks.

Welcome to the board!
Front or rear springs? I'm assuming you are talking about the fronts. I recently replaced all of my spring bushings, spring pins, spring hangars, etc. The parts are available and are not that expensive. Sometimes you can even get them locally at your neighborhood spring and suspension place. If not then check places like LMC Truck, Dennis Carpenter, Bob Drake, MAC Auto, etc.

You might even check Rock Auto

Good luck
Bobby

Thanks Bobby, tried them all with no luck........seems like their supply vender dried up. I know the front spring, rear hangers are worn out so I'm assuming the rears are too. I got all new front suspension parts installed except for the darn hangers. Rear is next, I'm hoping they are in better shape but not counting on it.
I'll check the local spring shops for hangers, maybe they can help.
Thanks for your reply, Eldon.

Unless you go to different springs, with larger eyes at the ends, there's no poly bushing that will fit in there. I wouldn't want any "give" in the bushings, either, you'd be all over the road unless you added side plates to the stock hangers.

Wow, thats a shocker.
Here's a link to a thread with a ton of links, who knows, maybe one of the vendors might have what you need...

I may have decent set of front spring hangers that aren't worn out.

I just got a full set of stock bushings from Classic Haulers last week. Not poly, but as said earlier, these aren't like large eye springs with large rubber bushings and steel liners.
