lately i've noticed a clunking sound when slowing down. it feels like its coming from under my feet while driving. i put my truck on my freinds lift tonight and it looks like the rear bushing on the drivers side(front) might be bad. the leaf spring is definitly rubbing on the shackle on one side. theres about a 1/2" from the shackle to the eye of the leaf spring on one side and its touching the shacle on the other side. so my question is, are these leaf springs rebuildable? can i buy a bushing and if so are they pressed in? thanks.
I haven't done it yet but I think this spring I will replace my front springs with new X-code springs and instead of using the factory bushings I replace them with Energy Suspension bushings. As far as I can tell it just looks like the old bushings press out and then you install new bushings.
yes i did my entire truck with energy suspension. make sure you have a press and get "new" u-bolts front and back. oh and make sure you have a friend cuz them rear springs a fing heavy
thanks guys. i checked with ed the parts guy and he said ford doesnt make bushings for my truck so aftermarket it is. i going to look up energy suspension and see what i can get.
