Glad you had better luck than I did with my front driveshaft. Noticed a shudder and vibration on mine and pulled it and it ended up being complete rusted including the slip joint. Getting ready to just order a replacement from Tousley and call it a day.
Love the way those Rubicon's look! Funny thing about Jeep owners, kind of like EX owners just more of them. You must wave at every other Jeep owner or be subject to bright lights or honking!
Don't know how those Rubicons ride but I know my Wrangler is my least favorite thing to drive. Talk about riding like a tank. Ya look good though.
Longer wheel base of the Unlimited makes the ride OK. Wife absolutely loves it. Took the Hardtop off it and never uses it. As it sits is how she drives it. We added heated seats to it so that helps.
Only thing she really didn't like was the low seating in the Jeep. Seems Jeep lowered the seat to meet an Air Bag requirement. So I found some spacers online to raise the driver's seat 2". She is now "happy as a clam at high tide". Did the same mod to the Excursion as she couldn't get the seat high enough with out the seat bottom being tilted with the front edge too high. 2" in the back and 1.5" in the front and all is well. There is a enough adjustment for me to lower the seat as far as it will go and not be too high for me.

Been there done that with the rust, feel your pain.

You are right to go after the shop that did the "repair" on your shafts last summer. Too often shops do dismal jobs and then say it's within specs.
Remember, your life is on the line if those things fail at 55 on the interstate, not theirs!
Keep the shiny side up!
Learned that lesson the hard and expensive way. Have just about replaced myself every part that place touched. All 5 u joints, 2 yokes and 1 ball socket.

Was wondering how they rode, wrangler beats me to death and that's coming from someone used to an Ex ride. But man do those Rubicons looks sharp. So you get that "jeep thing" around you? I take that to the store and it's like I got stalkers! Get it sometimes in the Ex people stop me and ask me questions about it, but in the Jeep everyone else in a Jeep has to acknowledge me every time they see me. Don't mind it, just odd how everyone with a Jeep seems to know the rules, like's its in the owners manual or something.
as i understood it JEEP = Just Empty Every Pocket!
Ha! Well it's got 95k on it and was bought for cash for my 19 yr old last year. It sits parked 8 months of the year (he's at Purdue and they don't allow Freshman to have vehicles on campus), except when I got my Ex torn apart (which sure has been alot lately) then it serves as my DD. As far as the pockets, I can assure it I have spent more on my project Ex in the 8 months I have owed it than I have in total including purchase price for the Jeep. But the Ex is a love affair and the Jeep is just transportation to me, so money well spent.

I am not sure it is as frequent as you describe. Here in Arizona there are a LOT of Jeeps and the demographic that drives them is pretty wide. Now, I do make a habit of waving to hot ladies driving Jeeps. So perhaps that is what you are experiencing!

We've put some money in the Jeep. I think the Jeeps command too high a price for what one gets. Pretty ancient technology, but they are very capable O/R vehicles. Biggest problem we had to solve in the Jeep is the dreaded "Death Wobble". Got that sorted out and then its been more wants that have tos.
Spent WAY more money getting the X sorted out. But paid way less for the X to begin with.
