Do my own U Joints???
I have an '87 F250. I also have a junk yard front drive shaft that needs new Ujoints. I think I am handy enough to use a vise w/ a socket etc. to press out the old U joints as the shop manual says,etc., but then it talks about balancing the shaft,etc. and that sounds WAY beyond me. Do people have success doing their own,or should I bite the bullet and take it to a shop? Thanks for the real world advice,

I agree with all of the above. It's aready balanced, vise or press are the best tools, but I've also had to use a hammer and socket before because of rust and corrosion. Oh, and like Lew52 says, mark the shaft and yoke so it goes back together the same way it came apart.
