Well just rousted my boys and we shoveled the 15" of snow drifted on the driveway, took the Ex for a spin and the whomp, whomp, whomp is gone! Happy Dance

Great to hear!
My skid steer is down right now...it doubles as my snow plow. I would be in deep $%^&* (kimchee ) if I had gotten any of the snow that hit you.

Was happy it hit over winter break from college so I had free labor to shovel it.... deep heavy snow and it's still blowing. Ha they will get it to do it again in the morning! Had two neighbors come over today and ask "are you going to the store can you get me this or that", we haven't seen a snow plow yet so none of them can get out to the main road. Love my Ex!
The snow clearing guy is gone (long story) so I have to depend on the Ex running through a foot of snow to the road but the 8,000 pounds and aggressive studded tires plow right through, until I can get a snowblower anyway. (I should have bought a used one in the fall). My neighbors aren't jealous though because they all have snowblowers.
Used my 4H for the first "real" time since I had a Dana 60 installed this summer. At the same time I had both my driveshaft remaned and later discovered some shoddy work done by the shop on my rear joints. I have Warn manual lockers on the front. Seemed to work fine and made quick work of getting out to the main roads after a pretty good snow storm. But I noticed when I came to a stop I was hearing a whomp, whomp, whomp sound just under my feet about the last three revolutions before coming to a complete stop. Soon as I cleared the back roads I took it out of 4H and noticed the sound was still noticeable but a bit quieter, manuals were still locked in, so I pull over and unlock the hubs, sound gone. I could also feel this whomp, whomp just under my feet.
This morning once it had a day to drip dry I climb under her to take a good look. Unlock the hubs and give the drive shaft a good spin and it moves freely, put some pressure on it pushing up and feel it move on the back side at the double cardon joint. Moves up/down about 1/4". The play is in the middle of joint not the flange side, if that makes sense. If I use a pry bar and try to move the half bolted to the transmission it doesn't move.
Know nothing about these joints other than they have two sets of U-joints with a socket of some kind between them, should there be any vertical movement? If not, is there a replaceable part other than the joints that might fix this or am I looking at new cardon joint. And yes I am kicking things around the kitchen in between typing this....fed up with paying people to do things half a*&%'d!
sorry that had to happen to such a pretty lady!
Im always let down when counting on others to do anything, thats how i learned to do it aall myself, at least if i do it half a$$ i can do it 2x and still save the money.

If I didn't have a 15, 19, and 21 year old to make do it, I probably would have gone and bought a snow blower today.

Glad you got it going. A+
Thanks, done paying anyone to work on my truck, just end up having to fix something they did anyway.
It beats the shovel though, especially after I wore my back out building houses for 25 years. Yes I was a mechanic before that.
I just got to keep my boys close enough during the winter months to come shovel mom's driveway and I will be good. If not then will have to call in one of my 5 brothers or turn on the charm and get someone to plow me out. Well actually with the Ex I can get out just didn't want to pack it all down at the edge of the garage, I got 1/2" of clearance so can be no snow on the lip or I'm stuck. This storm I stuffed our other 2 cars and the Jeep in the garage and left the Ex outside. It was painful watching her sit out in the elements but I wanted to be sure I wasn't stuck if it had to go.
Love the way those Rubicon's look! Funny thing about Jeep owners, kind of like EX owners just more of them. You must wave at every other Jeep owner or be subject to bright lights or honking!
Don't know how those Rubicons ride but I know my Wrangler is my least favorite thing to drive. Talk about riding like a tank. Ya look good though.
