Yes there is some advantage to a true twin scroll system. they spool just a bit faster from consistant pulse from the seperate pipes into the exhaust housing. If you change the up pipe to be better shaped Y you will be ahead of the game.

Pulse timing and balancing them into the turbo will make a difference in efficiency, but not enough to matter a whole lot in an application like this. If you have a smooth y then it'll help quite a bit. There is an odd cylinder out on each side so you would need some really fancy headers to time the pulses all into the turbo evenly with a fully dual-path setup. Something like this:

For our purposes, if you bring the two sides together before the turbo and have a sort of collector for both sides, it will even out the pulses and make for more efficient operation.

Ya I agree not a problem to spend that much effort on. Its hard enuff just to plumb the exhaust to the turbo and back down to the exhaust pipe in that small area in a truck. I'm real lucky to have all the room to do my system. I can open the engine cover/bed in the MotorHome and sit on the trany and work on the turbo super easy.

I was looking at firewall clearance today and it's tight but not terrible . My truck still has the factory plastic sound deadener on the firewall so I'll have to put some sort or heat reflector on the firewall .
That will have to be first on the list as I'm sure I'll have no room to get in there and apply anything .

This all depends on the length of the pipe to the turbo.
Full length custom headers that collect into the turbo flange.. Not realistic, feasable, nor would it net a whole lot imo. If going twins, sure maybe then, some custom shorties (think ricer stuff) but for a single or compounds just do eet.
