I know I along with others have gone over this before, but I never got any answers. I am pretty sure the pin switch on the latch assembly is out. Door ajar light stays on and running board stays out. The spray trick worked the first few times but does not anymore. I can not seem to find any part numbers or diagrams for the switch I need. I know I have read about the switch and people have replaced them but noone ever listed any part numbers or where to find em.
thanks
I fixed mine over the weekend. O reily can cross the above #'s to a borg warner numbers and they are a little cheaper with a lifetime warranty. It really was not to hard at all.
I will say that brake clean or solvents probably is not a good idea to spray in the latch assembly. I took the old switch apart and there are two small orings on the pin that travels in a tube. I am thinking that in my case the solvents i sprayed in there made the o rings swell and stick.
On the Nav passanger side the switch is located on the bottom of the lock assembly. The assembly needs to be removed so you can pry the plastic retainer away from the switch tab to get it to quarter turn out.
