It's built into the latch.

They stick. Soak it with WD40.

Which latch? Inside or outside? I'm about ready for the BFH!!!
My Door-a-Jar light keeps coming on while driving. Sometimes it goes on and off within seconds of each other. At night if it's on...the dome lite comes on when I come to a complete stop

Um... open the door and spray it into the latch (inside the door)... where it would grab the nader bolt like thing... if it were closed.

Hammer, open the door and spray the ****e out of the latch mechanism. Open and close the door 50 times. Then spray it again. You know you have done it right when WD leaks down the outside of your door.

I just had the same problem on my 99, no worries now. I am sure the senior guys here are pretty sick of this type of post, so I figured I could chime in. Good luck. KP

Do the door locks cycle at all when your moving...like they're trying to lock when they're already locked? The vehicle security module (VSM) went out on my truck, and it caused all kinds of weird stuff to happen-including things similiar to what you're experiencing.

My dome light will not come on when the driver's door is opened. It works with the other 3 doors just fine, but not the one that matters most. I have sprayed WD-40 in the latch until it dripped onto the ground from the bottom of the door, but still no dome light. I will admit that I didn't open and close the door 50 right then, however. How much of a PITA is it to install a new switch?
