Great. Some of those look really good, and I have an upcoming appt with repairing plenum leaks, and now I guess I had better plan on some painting. Arrg!!
Not to sure on the hot pink, although it does look striking.
I did my fuel bowl drain o-rings last night and I have to bring my brothers truck to a transmission shop to get it rebuilt today. He threatened my life if I take a pic of his truck on my trailer.
Chris, you remember "Dodge Boy".
I will clean my engine this weekend. Lots of diesel on that thing.
Thank you Wes, coming from a body shop owner that means alot. I noticed you used masking tape too when working on it. Must be a body shop guy thing! But I must say I am surprised you didn't paint yours since you were able to get it so clean. But at least yours still had some factory paint left on it. Mine being a yankeee truck, it was so rusty and nasty.
You might apperciate how I went about painting mine since you are a expert when it somes to painting things. After cleaning it with brake cleaner I taped off the heads and rest of the engine. Used a wire wheel and then used different sizes of Clean and Strip Disc, 6 in x 1/2 in S XCS Scotch-Brite . Wiped down with Dupont 5717S rinsed with water. Then hand sanded with 120grit, wiped down with lacquer thinner then used a ceramic engine primer ( For those that don't know when using a metal etch /5717S you must prime or seal before using body fillers or paint) red scuff pad sanded primed and then painted with a ceramic engine paint. Then reverse taped to do the same to the heads and I did the HPOP res same way.
After I started that project I thought to myself what is wrong with you!!! I think it would be a shorter list of what is right with me. It was alot of work for something noone will ever see. But in my defense I do have OCD.

it doesnt matter if no one sees it if something starts leaking you will see it . did you notice the wine cork in the dreaded hole to the clutch!!
Your link didn't, but as long as it's Simple Green, and doesn't have warnings about using it. Purple Power is a no no. Too caustic. The brand name Purple Power.
All I've ever used is Purple Power. I buy the gallon concentrate and mix it 50/50 in a spray bottle. Ya don't want to let it 'dry' though.

I use 2500psi (15* tip??) and likely wash the engine and under the truck more than the top... I cover the 6637 up and avoid the 42pin connector - that's about it. No problems in 260k miles with dually and over 100k miles with X. (I use the rotating 0* tip on the underside of the truck. )

No, I didn't!! I was concerned about leaving water sit up there and potentially submerging the IPR, etc - so I permanently fixed this problem (stupid Ford engineers ) when the engine was out, but it could be done w/trans out as well.
Here's the painted downpipe adapter and downpipe:
I don't have OCD, I can stop anytime I want. For example, I did not HAVE to paint my transmission....
