on my truck, I ended up having to go the route of placing aftermarket bulbs in the factory housings. I have the lights adjusted so that I haven't gotten flashed by anyone since the initial install (8 months ago).
I wish I could go with one of the aftermarket HID projector assemblies, but with the brush guard I have installed on my truck, the headlight crossbar would block the bulb completely (of the only aftermarkets I've seen). If I could find a manufacturer that made an assembly with a similar bulb placement as the factory housing, I'd purchase it. I don't feel comfortable hacking up my factory housing to do the modification the OP is doing.

It's really not that hard of a mod to do, just time consuming and kinda painstaking.
Do what I did, find a set of used headlights off Ebay or your local wrecker and do the projector mod on them. They can be had for $100-300 from what I've seen.
That way you always have your stock setup, so your truck isn't out of commission while you're doing the mod, and if you really screw things up to the point they aren't usable anymore (that would be REALLY hard to do), you're only out what you spent on the used headlights.
Think I have a handle on it now. Didn't realize TRS had youtube vids that help ALOT. I was working off the printed from a pdf (from thier site) instructions that are apparently a bit out of date. Thanks!
