And srteach, I agree to a point, but seems Luke when doing its crap, fuel seems to just be dumping in, I.e. seems like I'm loosing fuel according to gage, lol
With a new icp and ipr, fuel isn't likely to be dumping in freely. The hutch mod eliminates many other issues inherent in the fuel delivery system. You must decide what is the best course of action in your circumstance. I stand by my advice.
How long has it been since you changed the air filter? On my early 99 the stock air intake sucked. I had to put a new filter in every 2 months or it would do exactly the same as your truck is doing. The pcm will only give it as much fuel as it needs to match the air it's getting. Or at least I think that was happening, someone correct me if I'm wrong. I ditched the stock air box for the 6637 mod and haven't had that happen since.
Sounds like Curtis has seen this one somewhere else. If you cannot monitor boost pressure in PSI while driving, of fuel pressure in PSI while driving, then you need to stop and do that first. From the sounds of it, you need to start with a fuel gauge that you can install temporarily and duct tape to your windshield.
Click the B.E.S.T map link in my signature...looks like diesel-fitter-bum01 is the closest guy to you. Not sure how far away he is but might be worth trying to get together with him to hook up AE and get some data. Good luck!
Do you have loss of power? Does the truck shake or vibrate more then the norm when pushing the pedal down? If so your fuel pump might be on its way out. Thats what happened to mine. My fuel bowl would fill up fine and idle fine but under load it couldn't keep up. It last for 3 months like that till it completely crapped out.
I am in Omaha also and I know that Advance auto parts and O'rielleys both will read your codes for free. Just write them down and bring them into here and then people can help you better. Only problem you may find is have any of the old codes been erased after you fixed the issue.
Must be readily Avalable to you. Ppl round here want $150 for scan, and $90 hour to dignose
That's still cheaper than trying to solve the problem by continuing to throw parts at it and hoping to get lucky.
I've read through this thread and your posts on this problem. Based on what you've posted so far, you've had one bad tech give you the wrong advice. You need to take your truck to a different shop or a dealership that knows Powerstrokes, and let them fix the problem. At this point, you've spent a lot of money and time trying to hunt down the issue with zero success.

But here's the problem with that advice... it's not going to fix his truck. I'm not wanting to sound like a jerk about it (kinda hard to convey emotion on a forum), but here's the reasoning behind it:
These trucks don't throw codes for low fuel pressure. His truck is illuminating the SES light the instant the problem occurs. That should be the first course of action is to find out what code is being thrown and why, rather than ignoring the SES light and instead attempting a completely and totally different mod that isn't going to address the current problem.

Their scanners cannot read PSD specific codes. Most auto parts stores will simply use their basic OBDII scanners. These read generic codes, but do not recognize the Ford specific codes for PSD's.
Well from what I am seeing, if the sending unit/pick up is not working my gage would not work, as stated by someone in earlier post. So I am assuming that it would be the pump going out? Better to throw money at it this way than to give money to dealership where all oarts are way over priced and so is the thrown at them to diagnose.
