What would you do???

I have the opportunity to trade my 2005 ford f150 with 116,000 miles on it for a 1992 (love this body style) f250 7.3L Idi diesel with 180,000 it has a 6" lift 36" tires on 20" rims it is very clean no rust or rot. Just would like to get some opinions from others who own this year truck.

05 is that the heritage body style or the newer one? Ive looked all over the "06" body style and the cheapest i can find is 13-18 thousand. Wheras your typical IDI goes for 3-5 thousand. So take that for what its worth, bottom line is its whatever you want. Im looking for a newer 150 to go with the 92 250 that im getting.

With that new of a truck......

Personally, I would sell the 05 for what i can get, then go buy the 92 and pocket a few thousand....

Theo551, is your truck a 4x4, diesel or gasser.
How about a pic of both.

Is the 92 auto or standard.

well, since the F-150 was never offered with a diesel i will have to say it is a gasser.

your 05 F-150 is worth about $10,000 more than that 92 F-250.
and with those tires on it, that 250 is going to need expensive front end work soon if the front axle has not been swapped over to a Dana 60

My truck is 2wd, definitely a gasser. Kbb says its private party value is $8,000, retail 10,000. I should have mentioned before he was offering $2,000 cash also. But this is why I asked for opinions, the front axel was not swapped so I am not considering this anymore. I have decided to just keep my f150 and buy a 92 or 94 f250. Thanks for the help.

Tjc transport, from your sig I would assume you are from NJ. I am also from NJ. If you come across any nice 92 or 94 f250 diesel for sale let me know. Thanks.

I would NOT trade straight across. I would trade for cash and the truck or i would sell the 150 and buy the IDI and keep the rest of the cash.

Exit 0, Cape May. "Joisey" haha. Since you are from Jersey you would understand someone said 92 f250 going for 3-5,000, well in "Joisey" that will be 6-8,000. Everything is more expensive here don't know why.

Well if that '92 goes for that much more in Joisey, then so should your F150. Whichever way you do the math, your truck should be worth about $5000 more than the '92. So if the guy won't give you about that much in trade along with the truck swap, I'd do as said above and put the 150 up for sale; if the '92 sells in the interim, another IDI will come along.
