New Body Style

Hello...I tried to search for this topic, but it was disabled. Does anyone know if/when Ford will be changing the body style on the F150? Would like to know whether or not the truck I purchase this next fall will be "obsolete" within a few months. I love the current body style, but was just wondering.

I'm new to the forums, so please be gentle

If past years are any indication, they typically change body styles every 5-6 years (80-86, 87-91, 92-96, 97-03). Welcome to the site, by the way.

if you compare the 05 to the 06 f-150, they are slightly different, the 06 has round fog lights while the 04-05 have square, also the bumper covers are different the "hole" in the bumper were you would put a billet grill, in the 06 is smaller than the 05, if you compar the next to each other side by side, the hole is about a inch and a half smaller than the 05

Those are only slight cosmetic changes. I believe this user is talking about drastic truck redesigns. All manufacturers slightly tweak each model every year, but complete body style redesigns happen on larger year intervals.

I like the new front end I like how it's big and flat. i don't know that doesn't make it sound too good but you guys know what I mean. It's kinda boxier more european. I would like to see color coded mirriors. I think the more painted parts the less plastic it looks. Just my 2 cents.

Well if the new design has been on an 5 year interval, the new body style came out in 2004 (Fall of 2003) so you're guessimated date seems to be accurate. So I would vote that the new designs will be the MY2009

I don't think we need a body or frame redesign at all, I like the current look better than any of the other manufacturers. I would like to see a 6 speed or at very least a 5 speed tranny before MY09, and some power to keep up with the other trucks would be nice...though the tranny would help with that I'm sure.

no guess,I work at Dearborn Truck. We are doing a redesign for MY2009.
We are supposed to have a couple of refreshes for 07 and 08 as well( a new sport package for the xlt has been one rumor for 07 and the six speed has been another).*

*these are just rumors, please do not hold me to them. With Ford anything can change. This is just what I have heard.

What would be some things that would come in the sport package? Probably everything most guys go and do to there trucks after they buy it new. Funny how that works. Put a truck out, see what everybody does with them. Then offer the same thing from factory and charge double the price.

a lot of dealerships are doing thier own mods to the trucks. I saw one that was a "HPFX4". What you see in Ford's web site is all you get from the factory.
