The CB thread
My fav is my Uniden 66 that I've had since about 1996, it pushes a Grey 150 that has been Capped. I usually run the 3' Wilson Silver Series ant and the Lil Will mag mount.
I have a Galixey 33 that I use for a base most of the time, with a ground plane that Satisfaction CB shop in N Springhill, LA built.
A big ole Merry Christmas to all,

If you can, go to a welding outfitter or a place where they sell welding lead and get some at least #4, measure careful though and get enuff to go from the battery to back behind the seat. Mount your boxes back there and have toggle switches on the dash. Have the CB guy to help with this and mount you a fan in your modulator and the box when you get it.
There should be some rubber plugs up under truck so you can come under the cab with the wire and coax. Use tie straps and split a tire tube or something to wrap around and sheild the wire and coax when you get around ANY sharp edges---Also, put a fuse at the battery.
There should be some youtube vids on CB Shoot-outs. Also do a search on Dave Made.

I used K40's for many years, still do. Heck,I've talked barefoot in my old Chevy wagon during bad weather to two mobiles talking to each other in England,a few minutes later to Holland and then to a guy in South Africa using a barefoot Uniden Quarter Dime,a D104M6B and the K40 on USB.
For an easy cheap quick tuning tip on K40's loosen the antenna lock/adjusting screw, let the mast bottom out in the stinger, pull the mast up 1/4" and your SWR should be pretty close to perfect.
BTW,I got started in CB in 1966 or 1967,back then I ran an Olsen 717 5 tube radio mobile,it pushed only 2 1/4 watts at the back of the radio.Using an Allied speech compressor with a stock mic and a 102" whip I managed to talk to Venezuela one day so I have a pretty good idea of what works.
If you can think of a CB radio made between the early 1960's and 2000,base or mobile other than most of the Galaxies,I've had at least one of them.
I lived in Chicago back then and I bought the very last 6 Cobra 2000's Dynascan(Cobra) had back then, direct from the factory, along with the last extra speakers they had and saw that crummy piece of junk that they tried to replace the 2000 with and even had copies of the test printing brochures for it before anybody knew what they coming out with.
If I could post some old pics here of my shack with massive stacks of Browning Golden Eagles from the Browning S9 thru MK IVA's,Tram D201's including the first ones that were hardwired with VOX,Sonar 2340's with the old BR21 CB business band amps,Courier Chrome Toasters, all the Robin's,green and yellow,Allied A2567's,( some of the first 23 channel radios, they also had ch 22A,for 24 channels) and on & on.
You can ask anybody in Chicago on CB in the 90's about "Uncle Lar's" antique radio museum as they called it.A bunch of us ran CH 18 using barefoot tube radios, mostly Browning's,back then.We had between 15&20 people running Browning's.
"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that PING".
My truck spent it formative years with the Southern Nevada highway maintenance system so it has two existing holes in the roof for NMO mounts. I'll have to look around to see if there's anything in NMO compatible with CB (11 meter) frequencies.
I'll throw some pictures up when I have them in hand and installed. If any of you have done a CB antenna in NMO mount, let me know what you did to make it work.
