Glow plugs
Hello I have a 99 f350 7.3 with only 370k on it. I live in Texas where the cold dont come offten but when it does it comes pretty hard. Last year and here in the last week when it gets to 35 degrees or below in the morning my truck wont start i can plug it in for 20 minuits and it starts right up. The batterys are new as I have to replace them every 3 years or so anyway. I checked the GP relay it checked good but I replaced it anyway and still this morning had the same problem. Any suggestions before I pull the valve covers, check the wires and replace the glow plugs if needed. Thanks for your help.

One of my trucks is a 1989 450 and it had the same hard to start cold problem. I grew up around so when the diesel shop told me it was the starter I said prove it. The starter sounded fine, but they replaced it and it started down to 10 degrees without being plugged in.

With 370k on this truck $60 worth of TLC cant be a bad thing
and now I have an extra one.
