No return from drivers side?

I installed clear lines and found that there is little or no return from the drivers side injectors. With the truck running there is only about a 1/2 inch of fuel in the line and the rest is air. With the truck off there is no fuel at all.

How can there be no return? I have fuel going to the injectors. I cracked the lines and fuel came out of all 4. Does this mean there is no excess going to these injectors? The truck seems to run well.

I am stumped.

ip getting weak and no longer delivering correct amount of fuel? surely there should be a lot of fuel flow past all the injectors?

Just thinking out loud here but could all the injectors be shot on that side and leaking past there seals? I'm sure that would cause a lot of smoke tho. Seams weird the one side would have excess fuel and one would not, did not think the IP was seperated for driver and passenger side like that.

The truck has 225k miles I was told, and As far as I can tell the pump and injectors look original.

But if I wasn't getting enough fuel to the injectors, wouldn't the truck lack power, and run poorly? The truck seems to run great.

Thanks

Have you felt any difference of temperature on your high psi fuel lines going to the injectors ? Normally when you have an injector not seating all the way, the compression will leak past and heat the line up warmer than other injectors that are seating properly. I would say he probably has one or more injectors leaking on the drivers side bank but not necessarily all four. Is the truck smoking very much and if so, what color is the smoke ?

What happens if you run the clear line into a container? Could be a plugged line (or end) that isnt letting any fuel through the clear line, worth a check.

I will check the metal fuel lines at the injectors and see if any feel warmer than the others.

I will also try running the clear line into a container and see if that makes any change.

Thanks everyone.

There is very little return from the injectors. If you hook up one to a pop tester and hold it right below the pop pressure, there will only be a slight seepage from the return passage. I would be more worried if there was a lot of return fuel, that would mean the injector is worn and more fuel was going into the return than into the cylinder.

So it is normal for there to be very little fuel flow in that line?

I checked the hard fuel lines at the injectors, and they are all cool to the touch with the truck running.
