Front Hubs
I have a vibration in the front end that resonates through the stering wheel. It starts at 50 mph thru 70mph and then goes away. Makes a low growling noise through this speed.
Front hubs are unlocked and front shaft not spinning so it has to be tires and wheels which I have had balanced 4 times or the bearing assemblies.
I only have 80,000 miles on my 2005 (X) Excursion so I would not think the bearings would be bad allready. I checked and also have had 2 shops jack up the front and check for play, both said the front was good, had no play.
Any suggestions, do these bearing assemblies go out this quick?
Just went through this with the rear end 3 months ago, had a slightly bent D shaft. So I went ahead and had it straightened and new joints put in and balanced. Ran smooth for a couple months til now.
Hate to spend $700 on new bearing units if its something else.
