Sorry for it sounding like a dumb question - but I'll be getting my first Excursion delivered soon, and I know it needs a new windshield as there is a crack in it - As there are hardly any Excursions here in th UK, but more F250's - I just wanted to double check that the windshield would be the same on my 2002 Ex as a 2002 F250??? (that way I can aks the glass company to get me one in for an F250)
Yes you can even put the new OEM glass with "Superduty" around the mirror.
Great thanks for letting me know I didn't even know (hadn't seen until I just used google images) that there was 'Superduty' on some.............think I'll be lucky to just find a new glass in stock though haha!
I love the look of your Ex - Hopefully one day mine will look similar! The side vents in the (fender? we call them wings) finish it off really well
About 6 months ago my windshield cracked and was also replaced. Safelite did the repair and they installed a windshield that had some silver band around it. It did not look my original windshield but I was advised it was the current replacement. It made a pretty annoying hissing sound on the highway and they wound up coming back out and replacing the trim to match my original. Just a heads up for anyone replacing the windshield.
A windshield company have said they may be able to supply a new one here in the UK, but said that there are differences with 2002 onwards F250's compared to pre 2002?? I told them it was actually for an Excursion, but was the same as an F250, and they just said 'an Ex what???'
So was there a change in 2002 for the F250 that would make any difference to the screen for my Excursion?
the change was the molding around the windshield. Just do yourself a favor, look at the molding on the windshield you have now, and maybe even take a picture, and when they bring the new glass check the molding it has. The one they brought me and installed had a different channel around it, and yes it did fit, but it made a bad sound on the highway because of the channel. They were able to remove it and use the different trim, the right one for the excursion, but they had to take the windshield out again. just check it when it gets there. Just so you don't have the same issues I had. Or you can just ignore me, whatever makes you happy

Thanks for the advice I'll take all the help I can get! The main thing for me is trying to find a supplier here in the UK, so I thought I could just tell them it was a 2002 F250 - only for them to say according to their spec sheets 2002 had a change, and as I've never seen a F250 or Excursion until today when mine was delivered, I've got a lot to learn
Maybe I can take a pic of the moulding and e-mail them
