1994 maf conversion

I have also been reading in here and have found that the maf efi gets better mpg's than the sd efi and that this truck has a computer controlled tranny. What all is needed to do a maf conversion as painless and as easy as possible? I have also read that you can run both the maf computer and the Speed density computers together so one could retain the tranny controls. how would a person do this?

This is a "do a search" topic..........

But I will share with you a VERY new thread.

It should help you with your needs.

Have fun with your conversion!

Not necessarily.

Not at all practical.. it would take a bunch of custom wiring.. a total headache to setup and completely unnecessary when you could use a MAF truck computer that has transmission control built-in.

I'd only convert in order to add well, power adders. MAF handles some basic changes better than SD. I don't think it would be worth the small MPG gains if you got any.

My write-up on SD to MAF conversion: Speed Density to MAF 1993, 351W, A4OD - FSB Forums

What tranny you got? I ask because I have a MAF meter and computer for a 351W with the 4R70W transmission.

I am not sure when they started using that tranny vs the E4OD.
