I'm having to replace the fuel reutrn line. It's the piece thats prob about two feet long that connects to the engine fuel filter housing. My prob is that I can't figure out how to disconnect it from the braided part. Can this be done? I ordered the small section by itself, so I'm assummingit can but if not, someone please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any help!
You may need a spring release tool. It's that one that fits
around the tubing and slides into the connector and releases it.
Also look around that connector for a little colored block
it part of the connector. You push the lines together and then
press on that little block(rectangle) and it should release the line.
Somes times it helps to have a small flat blade screwdriver to
push it if your fingers can't do it. Just don't pry at it. It's not like the
old filter fittings that you have to break anything. This works if
it's the same type fitting that I am thinking about. It's bell shaped with a
rectangle block on one side of the bell. It should be a different color than the
fuel line.
If this does not work can you take a photo of it and post it?

Awesome!! I'll check when I get back. I don't remember seeing anything like that but I wasn't looking for it. If it does require that tool you were talking about, do you know where I could find something like that or could I just jerry rig something to slide around and inside the connection?
Thanks for your help!!
Let me know if you need more help maybe I can go look at mine and see what
tool is needed.

That'll get me in the right direction. I'll know for sure what type of connection it is when I get to working on it in the morning. That helps a ton though. I can't thank you enough. Reps are on there way.
I have the workshop manuals sitting here so I looked and it's
going to be the 1st or the 3rd Ebay tool I posted. Or it could
be the type that has the rectangle and they may be green or yellow
depending on the size of the tubing.
This should not be the type you have but I thought I would show you just in case
I would like to offer this small tip, these spring locks quite often get trash/dirt built up in then and the latch mechanism will be hard to open even with the tool.
Take carb spray, brake clean etc and with the little tube spray into the fitting and wash the crud out. It may take several sprays. Then spray a little wd40.
Thanks Fellas!! I Picked up the little tool at advance auto and got the new one on without any problems. Runs like new! Blue spring has to be one of the easiest and most bang for the buck mods, out there. nI appreciate your help on that hose. No telling how long it would have taken me to figure out how to get that hose apart if it weren't for the help here!
Thanks again!!!

Tim,
Was it the type with the little button? The first I ever ran into that
type was on my 02 Ranger and then again on my 6.0 when I had to replace
the top O-ring on the fuel tank. Too easy when you can see what your dealing with.
The seeing part is the key. Then it helps when you know who it works.
