My brakes have been not right for a while. First i had to pump about 3 times to get brakes when id drive & kept having to add brake fluid. so i replaced both rear brakes with everything new. I checked my lines & all looked good no leaks. But a few weeks ago I started it & brakes were worse with no fluid & it was smoking bad from my exhaust. I did a oil change and everything looked good. I just dont know where the smoke is coming from & have no brakes. Please help. :]
Bad master cylinder, it's leaking out the rear seal into the booster, the brake fluid's being sucked up the boosters vacuum hose and into the motor where it's then burned, hence the smokey exhaust.

Thanks so much. That explains alot. The master cylinder is what holds the brake fluid right? sorry for stupied questions. :/
X2 on the master cylinder.
When you replace it be sure you bench bleed it before you install. The new cylinder should have instructions on how to do that in the box.
