Questions for NumberDummy
Anyway, I'm hoping you can help me out. I wonder if I give you my chassis number off of my title whether you might be able to tell me about the origins and constitutionals of my heap, a 1962 Ford F350 dually with a 292 manual tranny. So here's the chassis number...
F35CR260617
Also, sir, I wonder if you might know a cross-referencable parts-number for FRONT shocks for it. There are apparently several sources for rear shocks out there. But I haven't been able to find anybody who sells front shocks for the thing. Its current front shocks are completely and totally ruined at this point, being only good for looking at at if you don't mind looking at rust.
Thanks for your help ahead of time, NumberDummy.
Regards, Casey

Whatever shocks your truck has, were added by a previous owner from lawd only knows what.
F35 = F350.
C = 292 2V
R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.
260617 = 1962, assembled February 1962.
As far as those shocks are concerned, well, I guess I can just completely remove them then, especially since the front beam in it is obviously its original one (six-lug).
Thanks again. These boards are blessed to have you on them.
Regards, Casey
If so, another RV dealer add on. There was an RV dealer in Riverside back then that dealers sent their trucks/Econolines to be converted to Class C Motorhomes.
1969: FoMoCo introduced the E300 "Cut-Away." Cargo van that the body was cut off behind the front seats so special bodies could be installed. 1969/74 E300 Cut-Away's were slugs, largest V8 available: 302 2V

E350 Cut-Away introduced in 1975, most thru 1997 came with 460's.
