Yummy Military truck's well awsome...
I don't have much use for the 2.5's but i use a good bit 5 tonner's.
M818's,M817's,M139's,and big daddy M123A1C.
But i did up date mine with a KT-450 cummins turned up to 475hp and 13spd OD trany's,swapped the 11.00-20's for 14.00-20's not just 6 but all 10.
sept the 10tonner got the KT-450 turned up to 525hp,18spd ODtrans,I did leave all 10x14.00-24's on this truck unlike most guy's.
now they all run 64-68mph with a good 60%+ more pulling power. OLD Truck's Moderen Power Plant's what more could you want??
But if i need some 2.5's you i'll bestuffing KT-450's,13spd OD's in them and swapping the 9.00-20's for 11.00-20's But in the 2.5tonner's i'll leave the KT-450's at there stock 450hp setting.
But hey you Know nothing stay's stock long :-).........

Good ole military trucks, the M35A2S AND THE 800 SERIES are outlasting everything the military gets now, including the Humvee. The military is phasing out the old trucks but there is a high demand for them in the civilian sector cause they are easy to repair andd can go through anything. If the M2, M38 AND M151s still existed en mass they would outlast any thing modern.
My favorite was always the M35A2C, dropside multifuel 2 1/2 ton trucks. They would runn on urine if thats all you had. The best one I ever used was built in 1962 and I was using it from 91-94. cant beat a good old thing.
I aged my truck 2 years, I have an 86 f150 not an 84.
The local fire departments around here have Tri-fuel Military 5 tonners tankers. All of them however, are in the diesel setup, and have been ever since they were surplused and decommisioned from military use.
I have an 86 F-250 H.D. 4x4, 4 speed with a 460. But my baby is a 1972 Pontiac Ventura with only 58,000 original miles. It's putting out about 300 horses and it only get 9 mpg!
I also have an 85 f250 w/460 and a 8 1/2' camper. It's awesome I love it, I call it N.U.M.B. Northern Utah Mobile Bar
Cool! I hope to love mine soon. I'm thinking in terms of calling it my BAT mobile (Big A$$ Truck). Haven't decided yet, though -- have to see what kind of personality it has once I get it back on the road.
I drive in 1984 F150 HD 4x4 xl...... rancho suspension, 4 inch suspension lift, 33x12.5 Wild country mudders, 300 I6 (23 MPG BABY O YEA) SWB....... needs a paint job its getting pretty faded, the drive train has 3,000 miles on it..... im swap'p'ing the complete interior out for that of a 1995 or 1996..... "The Big Red Truck"
1984 ford f-150 with 4 speed OD, 4x4, all stock exept for the stereo.
i plan to put a set of american racing five stars on it that i got for 100 bucks for all 4. then i want to go with 30 or 31 inch bfg AT's. I also plan on putting a cobra 25 cb in it and i want to put in a rear sliding window, i want a tube grill in the front of it too, with a push bar and fog lights on the push bar, i plan on putting an oversized ford emblem (one from a ford bus) on the front.
my toy/pampered baby/economy car is a 68 mustang with the 200 six and 3 speed manual, it needs painted to be real nice, that should be done by the end of summer, suprisingly this car gets around 20 mpg and is pretty peppy for a six.
