Throttle Body Coating

Just a new piece of information. According to CRC Industries, the coating in a throttle body is a Teflon based antifouling coating. Just in case you wanted to know what that really was.

I would guess then that "throttle body cleaner" is safe to use because it doesn't damage the teflon, as opposed to maybe something like brake cleaner.

Great info, thanks guys. I cleaned mine yesterday with some STP Throttlebody cleaner. I was hesitent until I read your post.

I only wish that the throttle body cleaner sprayed out as hard and fast as brake cleaner. It really comes out puny in comparison.

welcome to our forum. I started to buy the STP product. But I haven't had good past cases with STP. I used Gumout brand. It worked very well and shor about three feet!!! I am one of those guys that has to test the pressure on everything. lol. Good to know what will kill a wasp from a distance.
