Power windows & locks

White 1997 Explorer XLT 4 door 4x4 4.0 sohc 220,000 miles. The power windows and locks dont work. I've tried all of them in the whole car and nothing. Replaced all fuses at the inside panel and replaced all fuses and relays under the hood. Replaced master control switch on the drivers side and still nothing. Anyone ever have this problem? If you have please guide me in the right direction to solve this problem. Mike

Welcome to the forum!

Did you happen to check for power to the master window switch before replacing it? If not, you may want to pull the switch assembly again and check for power. If you search the forum, you'll find that several power window and lock issues have been caused by various broken wires in the accordion boot between the driver's door and cabin. One quick (but not foolproof) check could be to open hold a window switch down (or up depending on current window position) while slowly opening the door. If you find a position where the window will work, that just about guarantees the problem is in he accordion boot. However, if the window never attempts to work, that doesn't confirm that there is or is not a problem with a wire.
