I have a 2008 f450 it has been dpf deleted and egr deleted. Its running a H&S xrt pro. it has had intermittent starting problems. and now has developed stalling problems. It has beed to the dealer 3 times and the have said there is nothing wrong. It has no codes and runs perfect after you get it started. I live in Utah at 5000 ft. today I went to start it and it wouldnt start but after about 10 tries it started, tried to drive it made it about 1/2 mile and it quit and didnt want to start. finly got it running and quit again.. still no codes ?? when it quits it is like you just shut of the key. And when you try to start it it will turn over but no fire, any ideas would be helpful as I am about to ... well never mind. I dont think it is PATS problem that has been fixed. On a side not I now the truck has a new motor so maybe loose connection? truck has 90k on it now
Sounds like some sort of computer glitch. Have you tried taking the tuner back to stock and reloading, or disconnect both batteries and see if that will reset something. I guess batteries are good, since it sounds like they do a lot of cranking. Sometimes a bad battery can cause a lot of very strange things to happen in electrical system. It's got to be something vey unusual if there are no codes and the tuner is something the ECM would not recognize so that would be my number one suspect. But, I'm pretty much an amature. Good luck, let us know what you learn.
I have disconnected the battries, I belive that they are good I guess I could test them for sure but they seem to be in great shape.. they are optima and fairly new? I have actually tried a new tuner I now have 2 a mini maxx and a xrt pro. I know it has to be something wierd so any thoughts are help. Another funny thing is it was acting up a little here in Utah then I drove it to California stayed a week and it ran perfect.. came back to Utah and it started acting up again .... I guess its just a california girl .
So it ran great in CA but not UT. It probably doesn't get state lines but could it be " ran good in flat lands runs bad at altitude"? There's some stuff that altitude changes in the fuel system but I can't say what. Change your thread title to something like "bet you can't figure this out" and some of the real wrench heads will be jumping all over this riddle. Where are you Sennix? Cheesit?
Did you happen to try and clean your engine bay recently? A buddy of mine had similar issues immediately after spraying down his engine at one of those pressure washer places with the "engine degreaser."
Start simple. Fuel filters. Have you changed them recently? Check them. Especially the one on the engine. Pull it and check the fuel bowl. If nice and clean and the filters are less then 10K put them back in.
When you turn the key to the on position do you hear a buzz for the low pressure fuel pump? Does it pressurize and then turn off?

A pcm will store codes if it "sees" a problem. Lose power or ground for the PCM it wont "see" anything, because its dead. Start there.
Well I changed the filters just because I wanted to eliminate it and after getting the air out it is back to the same thing. worked all day getting the air out and had it running good next morning wont start again... left it sit and went to try and start it a few hours later and it started right up ?? it will turn over no fire??
what about a sensor somewhere ?? Any help is great. Thanks

I was thinking the Lift pump as a possibility... I do hear it run for sure sometimes other time I cant tell with the stupid dinger going off... it there a relay, iam sure there must be I will check that and try to listen for the pump. I have been thinking it is a fuel issue
I forgot to add that the truck only does this in the morning.. if it starts it will run flawless the rest of the day. Also is cold related ... and if I plug the truck in it will still do it. I belive it ran great in California due to the warmer temps??
