Factory remote starter

I have a buddy that wants to put a factory remote starter in his 2012 F250 deisel.
Going through one of our sponsers, (silverstate Ford), the price is pretty good. But just how easy is it to install this unit? He already has the keyless entry feature. Just need the box unit and the new key with the additional button.

Is it plug n play? Can he install this and program the new key heads himself?

Pretty easy

I ordered mine from the dealer, parts only. The kit comes with the unit and 2 uncut keys. The unit is super easy to install...goes under your dash beneath the glove box. I had the keys cut at Ace Hardware (locally owned...always try them first) and programmed the keys to work on the truck for starting and alarm activation/deactivation using some directions I found on the Internet. The only thing I had to do that sucked was have the truck PCM set to 'remote start Yes' by the dealership. You could have your buddy get the kit and install/cut/program and try it. If it works great if not he will need the PCM option for remote start set from his dealer.

Thanks

2012 F-350 XL Dually.
