best???? thats hard to say. afterall, most of what makes a unit good is the install. i have tried a couple different brands. my favorite is crimestopper, and my least favorite is bulldog. are you looking for a basic remote starter, or an alarm/starter/keyless entry? there are many units that will tie into factory security systems, and you can even use the factory remote as a starter ( as example, 3 pulses from the factory remote lock button will start my truck if i want). you just need to decide which features you would like to have. based on which vehicle you have (im assuming a newerr ford), you will need a PATS bypass module as well. will you be installing yourself, or having a shop do it? the units themselved are not that expensive, but installation can be. hope this helps some.

I also have the Crimestopper unit on my F-150, and am very satisfied with it. I can start the truck from quite a ways away, and it has never failed to work. I had it installed professionally, and feel this is the only way to go as there is too much that you could accidentally screw up........................................

it doesnt take a brain surgeon to install a remote starter unit... its actually pretty easy, since the manufacturers tell you the location and color codes for all needed wires. it can be time consuming, but very simple to do.... i actually enjoy doing them.

Take a look at Compustar, This is the Cadillac of remote starters. I have had 8 vhehicle with remote strters and this has been the best brand I have bought. The range is increadible, and it starts every time.
