Granted hese results were cherry picked a bit to prove a point, but the trend is there. The 7.3L PSD's are listed for more than the 6.0L's, and you can even find some IDI's for higher. They can't give away the 6.0L's.
Up here the only thing about a 6.0L that anybody cares about once it hits the JY (and they are all over our junk yards) is the front grill/headlight setup and the seats. They can't keep those in stock, last time I was at a yard there was a row or 12 6.0L engines, and one 7.3L and it had the highest price tag on it.
that 6.0l is effin cheap compared to over here. that same truck would be north of $10k.
6.0L's are just loathed up here, I know when they are built up right they can be crazy powerful if your willing to put the money into it. But nobody does they just sell them and get something else. The city for over 30 years had contracts with Ford for fleet vehicles which they ran for average 5-10 years (8th and 9th are still all over the place). They bought a TON of 6.0's, after two years they were running almost all Chevy's till Ford brought out the 6.7, and now they are retiring the Chevy trucks and going back to all Ford trucks.
when i pick this truck up i am only gonna have it for about a month before i start ordering upgrades to build it... honestly it won't really be a 6.0 when i am done... its getting a bulletproof kit in my opinion x10... cuz i am gonna build the entire motor from top to bottom... including a twin turbo kit... all the while the 86 6.9 is getting torn apart to be rebuilt from the ground up!
i would scrap the banks and run an SCT turner with custom tunes. check out the aftermarket 6.0l section here and on psn for more info. if you want a tuner/monitor all in one then get the SCT livewire. they even have a brand new model out of that. most guys seem to like the sct xf3 or something like that for the tunes and then an edge CTS monitor only for monitoring engine vitals.
could go stage 3... but i am wanting this truck to still be a reliable driver... and i am thinking 225cc injectors are a bit to much...
pretty sure there are a number of guys on psn and i'm sure on here running injectors that big with single turbos without smoke issues, and driveability.
oh wow! yeah you will need more than one turbo then lol. yeah unless you can get custom tunes with the banks(don't think you can) then the SCT or some other custom tunes would be best.
