trans is out as is engine(I am O.H. engine as nec). Since trans is out and never been touched do you think i should consider doing someting else to it other then(i got rear seal and 4 items to reseal frt).
What type of tranny is it? I would replace the front seal while you have it out. The weight of the torque converter sitting in it tends to make it a leaker when you put it back in.
Look on the torque convertor, there should be a plug on it, so you can drain all the fluid out. It's tough to get it all out of the shaft hole. Make a note, this drain is also how you drain the whole thing when it's installed in the truck. Note #2, very important; When you put it back together, make sure one of the large open holes on the flywheel/flexplate goes over the drain plug, so the flexplate doesn't hit the plug and bend it when you are putting it all back together. I would mark the torque converter and the flexplate with alignment marks to help you out when it's all going back together.
I vowed I would never, ever pull a C6 pan w/o installing a drain plug in it. That's because of the huge mess I make in draining one w/o a plug. So far I haven't deviated from that vow, and hope I don't because it is so cheap to get one of the drain plug kits and so easy to install them. And, it makes a big difference in my willingness to drain the tranny later.
