Truck cranks and runs fine. When I stop after running it 30 minutes or so. It will not crank. Let it set for a couple of hours, then it cranks and runs good. Was low of oil, put about a gallon in it, then it ran fine for a bout a week with no issues. All of a sudden, this morning, runs fine, I stop. No crank. I let it sit all day, went out to crank it tonight, and cranked fine.
I replaced the EGR cooler back in April with delete kit. Hope like hell this isn't related.
Sounds like a HPOP prob to me based on past reads. with running that low on oil could have helped it along its downward path.
Have you looked at the No Start Check List? It has a section there on checking out the HPOP, plus other helpful info.
Cranking is the engine rotating by the starter. You mean it won't fire or start? Sounds like a high pressure oil leak, which will be worse when the oil is warm.
Definitely sounds high pressure oil system related. Being that it's an 06, I'd guess your snap to connect on the back side of your high pressure oil pump is leaking. But it could also be eroded seals on your dummy plugs.
I have the same problem, no codes or other signs of failure else where. I have same year truck, engine size, and miles. So it's more than likely a HPO system leak. I however I don't believe it's the HPOP STC fitting, if that fails it just won't start.
I'm in the process of repairing mine, and doing other preventative maintenance since I'm in there.
All you have to do basically is remove the valve covers, and replace the dummy plugs and stand pipes.
Here's a pic I took Monday of my dummy plug. The parts will run like $200 max, and a 3 hour job??? Depends you know many variables. But yeah. I opted to tear my baby down so it's been a week of like 2 hours a day. Seems pretty challenging just so your research before you jump at it.
Guys, don't forget the old school problems from before all these computers - bad starter solenoid, maybe? It's a no-crank, not a no-start... Unless the CPU controls the starter, which maybe it does... Anyway, next time crawl under there with a screwdriver and jump the solenoid, old-school...
He hasn't clarified whether it is a no crank or no start. From his description, he says it won't crank, but all the other symptoms sound like it will crank but won't start. People mis-use "cranking" all the time.

This is correct. If the engine spins when you hit the start position on the ignition that is cranking. Batteries are rated in cranking amps. Somehow it has been confused with engine turning over and not starting.
Sorry guys. It turns over and over and over, but it will not start. I have check for oil leaks and no signs. oil level is good. It has started every time I have tried it today. After it runs for a while is when it will not start. It just turns over and over.

Go the your local Ford dealer and ask them for a set of "plugs, dummy".. As in "I'd like to order a set of plugs, dummy..... for my 6.0l". Also change the standpipes. You'll need a set of fresh batteries and/or a big ol' charger/starter to get'r started after you change them. Takes a while to start the first time.
