I'll ohm them tomorrow and report what they ohm. Like I said, my trouble shooting inexperience has had me all over the place, so I'm tring to step back and think, like you say Glenn.
Nate, keep that ICP handy.....just in case Have you had a chance to test it yet?
That's right Nate, you walk into the house and my wife asks if I'm done. I say NO and she understands not to ask anymore, LOL!
LOL!! When I walked in the house last night after changing the injector and going for an unsuccessful test drive, I guess my wife could see it on my face, she just looked at me and said "I love you" LOL! I gotta love that about her!
When you check them injectors, you gonna check from the idm connector? it may not be the injector if its a wiring issue causing the shut down..
sometimes I have to laugh...cause I might cry otherwise...
I think I need to save up for injectors. A few weeks ago I ran out of Power Service and kept forgetting to get some. Yesterday I filled both tanks and treated them both to a 4 oz. dose of Power Service, and today it seemed to run better. Revveed smooth with little smoke, but still the rough idle and slight surge. I went to my buddy's shop to see if he would scan it again, but he wasn't there. I had his brother come out to listen to it, and I started it up and revved it a few times, and it started running worse and worse, then it would smoke when I revved it to 2500 rpms. I shut it off and let it sit there for a few minutes and when I left it was fine. I pulled out from his shop and it tried to start the missing and carrying on, but then it cleared up and ran good all the way home. The Power Service seemed to help maybe, I don't know. I guess I'm going to start saving for injectors. I'm going back to my buddy's shop in the morning to scan it and do a cc test again.
I don't know if this would help Bill but one time mine started running weird so I dumped the fuel in my filter bowl and filled it up with PS and started it. Cleared it up. Been told by some not to do this but was told by others its OK. Sorry I can't help more.
Bad injectors are not intermittent. This has me stumped ..
We need a steam of data , cold , warm , missing , not missing ..
We also need IPR DC % As it compares to ICP pressures Cold & warm if you can. When warm & running bad ,is the fuel bowl full?
When running bad & warm , is the HPOP res still full .Buzz test warm will tell you if there are any IDM codes .. Pull the valve cover & ohm injectors at the solenoid s individually when warm(or when running bad .
We nee to see TPS data , it can be none with a meter ,or a scanner
We need to see EOT as it compares to Ambient. If out of spec , it can cause the injector timing to be all over the place , it can cause symptoms like a bad CPS
I still want to know if we have any loose poppet screws or out of spec poppets
The wiring as it crosses the left valve cover can wear & cause the symptoms too . look at it very closely
Or if you are in the neighborhood , drop it off here , I'll get to the bottom of it .
I'll keep thinking about it & post more if I can ...

Rick, could a bad solenoid cause this? My buddy with the OTC Nemesys is the only person I know with a scanner, but I don't think I trust his because while doing the cylinder contribution test last time, it started running like crap and his scanner said it passed the test He was having a miss issue with his truck ('97 psd) and the cc test said it was his #4 injector, so he replaced it and it didn't fix it. If a bad solenoid could cause this intermittent missing, and consistent rough idle, would it be worth while to swap the solenoids from the other truck one at a time and see if it makes a difference?

Thanks Rick. If I have to, I'll scrounge up enough to order AE and get the info myself.
Need a better scanner .. Snap on , AE .. It may be worth having a shop scan it for you . If you were closer I'd do it for you ..My old Snap on can easily isolate a bad injector ..
