No Heat..

Just discovered I don't have any heat in the cabin. I have deduced that it has to be either the blend door, motor that moves it or the temperature control. I have removed the components and found the blend door is o.k. it moves freely and the bottom is still there (are some cracks appearing so will glue or tyrap to try and save). I applied voltage to the controller and nothing happened when I rotated the temp ****. NOW the rub. How do I determine if it is the temperature controller in the dash or the controller motor?? Anyone have a checkout procedure for this? THANks for any help provided.

measure voltage at the motor with a volt meter ? Or put jumpers to the motor and see if it runs ?

Can you be a tad more specific as to the pins or color wires that I can measure the voltage at or the pins on the module that I can apply 12 volts to? As I remember there are 6 wires in the bundle.. Thankis..

Make sure fuse # 5 is good then follow the below procedure...

This is what I did for my no-heat issue..

I checked the actuator motor with my scope and heard no sound and saw no movement after I disconnected the plug and re-connected the plug... I then unplugged the old motor and plugged in the new motor I bought and then with the key on I turned the temp **** and watched the motor shaft rotate from side to side...

I then tried the old motor one more time and the motor actually turned from full cold to full hot and STAYED THERE... So I pulled the old motor, lubed the shaft with a dab of grease, and installed the new motor and put the screws in it...

I bought my motor from Rockauto for MUCH LESS than Ford wanted for it...I think I found it for 33 plus shipping...

THANKS to all that responded. After following the enclosed troubleshooting sheets it appeared to be the motor. I opened it up and found the circuit board was black and the back side destroyed. The motor was also badly rusted. Soo, it appears the flap door motor was indeed the culprit. Will get one tomorrow and hopefully can move on. THanks again..
