Id hate to be the guy to bring this up, but maybe punt it?
Depending on the miles and overall condition and the truck 'runs good' as you say. You may be able to pass the potatoe? kick the grenade? toss it over the fence?
And potentially get him a more sound (and more sexy version of the 7.3 (OBS)).
It all depends on what he could get for his truck. Lots of people arent educated AT ALL on these trucks and way overpay for them.
Like I said hate to see that as a possibility, but I know your brother has a family and a new house and other obligations im sure and they come first. So a good running truck is a necessity!
I have like 15 current links of pretty OBS trucks that are ext to CC in rust free states asking prices varying from 4500-10k.
