What would be considered to be a safe range of exhaust temps,or what could you cruise or go up a slight grade for a length of time. This of course is for a stock type cooling system and oem turbo on a 7.3 4''exhaust 3.5''dp

1250 is the magic number.
Keep the needle below that to avoid glazing the tops of your pistons, heat fusing the exhaust valves to the heads, and other fun things you probably would just rather avoid trying for yourself... when so many others have already been gracious enough to sacrifice their trucks to the gods of the learning curve.
Stepping above that mark happens... but then your odds get progressively worse as the needle climbs, and the longer it stays there.
That being said... if your temps are going crazy high...
Your truck might be trying to tell you something is wrong.
