Ok, finally got my pyro installed. It's on the rear of the drivers side exhaust manifold.
What's everyone seeing for 'normal cruising' temps? I have a pyro on my Cummins and it reads 450F cruising at 60mph with average outside temps. It's a post-turbo install on that truck so I know I need to add a couple hundered degrees. My Ex is running around 850F or so cruising at 60.
That seems on the high side. When I had stock exhaust I'd see about 650 or so. With a 4" it's right at 600. Be absolutely sure you've got a level road when you do your comparison; a little uphill or downhill makes the EGTs swing signficantly.
Yeah, I was AMAZED at the speed difference between pre and post turbo! My post unit takes quite a while to register ups and downs. It also takes a lot longer to cool down to shut-down temps (latent heat in the turbo I would assume). The pre jumps and drops FAST!
