Steering wheel

So when I bought my 79 it had a small steering wheel on it.
Its hard to drive plus I think illegal.

But anyway i thought it would be easy to find another stock one somewhere.

Not the case so it seems.

I found a few 76's which are bigger than 79's.

I found a few in real bad shape.

Found lots with no horn pads or horn pads in bad shapre.

Anyone know where I might get a stock steering wheel in half decent condition with a stock horn pad in decent shape?

They are reproduced by Dennis Carpenter but be prepared to pay about $375.00 for both the wheel and horn bar for '79. The 73-77 are a little cheaper.

Is it out of a 78/79?
Did tilt come without cruise etc?
Just a plain tilt would be nice.
Where are you located?

Wheels from the early '80s will fit as well. I think up to '86. I'm sure if I got the year wrong somebody will be along shortly with the correct year.

I belive its out of the 79 I parted out right after I drove a 150 mile round trip to get the one I put in my 77. Lol
Its not a cruise horn pad. Only small crack is in the horn pad maybe haven't looked at it since I moved out to the shop. I'm outside of bennet Nebraska.

I think if the colum interchanged the local Ebay douch would have taken them all like he has out of every single otherwise dent side within a 100 miles. Lol

SAME: 1978/83 F100/350, Bronco and Econoline. 1981/83 steering wheels were available in different colors.

1978/83 horn pads are also the same, but with or without Speed Control makes a difference, as Speed Control switch mounts into horn pad.

1974/77 steering wheels/horn pads are not the same, and neither is 1971/73 as FoMoCo replaced these colored steering wheels with D4TZ-3600-A 1974/77 black steering wheel (1975/77 without Speed Control).

Ok I found a wheel on a 82.
But it doesnt seem to fit proper on the 79?

Is this silver piece part of my aftermarket Grant wheel?
It seems to be on there tight and my new wheel doesnt seem to go on far enough?
