Yeah we most likely didn't get hit nearly as bad. But last year we had about 2 feet of snow withing a few days then it drizzled and we had a sort of sleet. But it didn't end up melting snow it stayed on top and froze. I worked at a dealership as a car washer/lot attendant and only washed about 1 car an entire week. at my house we had about 6 hours without power and i almost ran out of gas trying to find an open station to fuel up at. I ended up ruining the mood of some people at the gas pump by jumping in front of them while a huge motor home was blocking the way. I only got $50 of gas before the pump shut off but it was enough to last through the storms.
When i would go to move cars around i would have to break a hole in the ice and i could reach under it then pop a huge chunk off. It was funny the first few times but once my hands started to hurt and my feet got numb it wasn't so fun.
EDIT: also i forgot to say, the reason i asked about buying a truck is cause i am trying to get rid of my 88 ranger But it isn't a 3/4-1 ton and doesn't have an IDI motor. Oh well.
I know that storm. That was just after I got hurt and was still trying to
work. We had a bunch of people that left at 3:30PM because they saw a
few too many flakes coming down. I was on swung shift and knew if I
tried to get home at that time I would be sitting for hours. We had power at
work and I stayed and got some work done. Maintenance like it when the floor
operators are out of our way so we can work on things that will take a machine
out of service for a few hours. So come 11:30PM and it was time to go home.
I loaded up some 5 gallon buckets with water for ballast and headed home.
167 S not bat till you get to the new Sumner exit and I got off there because the
mess up on 512 at south hill. Here is the funny thing it only took me a bout 45
minutes longer to get home. Some of the people that left at 3:30 I found out
had been tying to get home for 15 hours. 4X4 did help but not really that much
on the freeway on the Sumner back roads by the cemetery it helped a lot.
Drove in the next day and more than half of swing shift was MIA. more
time to do projects.
Ok you can hate me for this but I WANT 18" of snow
before surgery or if after long enough that I can get around
without a lot of pain. I like driving in snow and really want to
see how the truck drives in it,
I wouldn't mind 18 inches. I could build a nice big snowman in the street then blast into it with the bronco... Plus i too have wanted to see how it will preform with only 2wd. I am totally fine with the rear end sliding to hell and back as long as the front tires have grip. Last year i had more trouble steering than i did stopping and going.
It is getting kind of cold here, my feet were numb and hurting after a few hours of standing and talking with a friend outside. My Converse are definitely not winter shoes..
