Steering wheel thread size

Simple question but I can't seem to find an answer.

What is the thread size for a steering wheel nut. The nut that holds the wheel down. I was trying to turn my wheel with the truck off, pushing it off the road, and the wheel just popped off. Took it apart and there was not nut. Thanks.

So your steering wheel "pops off" when your not trying yet to change you turn signal switch i had to gently persuade it with a large mallet and a 2x4?
