Everyone who says Pete and Stewart are great guys are dead wrong. They were over here today, I would know.
They're even better than just great guys! Not sure what word to use. I think that caliber of people is starting to disappear in America, and that's sad. They both definitely represent FTE well. I'm sure they're not the only ones either.
In any case, in just a couple of hours they helped me know more about my truck than three dealerships and two years have given me. Now I just have to shell out the dough to get back on the road...

Its the least we could do. Thank you for your service to our country.

Reps to them.
What did you guys figure out? Having to shell out the dough?
Among other things, the up-pipes are leaking, turbo pedestal is likely leaking, LPOP seal is leaking, there is a likely EBPV issue/leak and even though all the injectors pass a buzz test, one injector on the passenger side was stuck open/having enough behavioral problems to hydrolock the motor. I've already replaced two injectors, and I don't want to keep breaking down as the rest of them go one by one. So (darn it anyway...) I guess that means all 8 will just have to be replaced by stage 1's. With the money I had set aside from the sale of a trailer, I might even be able to look at a 38R.
If I had left the truck at the dealership, I MIGHT have been able to afford refurb stock injectors, but none of the other fun would have been clearly pointed out. Reps already given!
Speaking of injector replacement, what are y'alls thoughts on replacing the VC gaskets/wiring harnesses with new injectors? The current wiring isn't bad, but if it's been around for 200k miles it might not hurt to replace it. And, if I recall correctly, Peter mentioned that there is a newer version of the VC gasket/harness that makes the 50 cent mod obsolete.
Firstly, before I forget - any of you all have an inch-pound torque wrench you'd be willing to loan out?
Secondly, I talked to Clay today. And spent a LOT of money. A very large box will arrive sometime soon on a big brown truck, and then the real fun will begin. Sadly, I barely missed a great deal on a used 38r and ceramic coated up-pipes, so no ceramic for me.
I'm now in hot water with the wife. Maybe she'll like the results.
Yes, I had already planned on bringing whatever tools we needed, including my digital torque wrench.

Stewart - I remember you mentioning that wrench, but it doesn't go into the inch-pound range for the rocker arm retainer bolts and injector retaining bolts. I checked - I nearly bought one. I could pick up a snap-on brand 18-125 inch-pound range (or up to 135, I forget) for about the same price, but I can't buy anything else for a while. I just ordered today, so I would expect delivery next week.
