I have a 1985 f250 6.9L sidewinder kit 4x4 c-6 truck.
thursday I was coming back from a friends house after crashing there truck started fine. drove about 10 miles home parked it had to go to work about an hour later truck started then sputtered and died. It turned over for a little bit 20 secs or so. waited some then turned it over again and it started no problem. ran and drove great.
Then today I was recyling some oil at advanced auto was parked for around 20 mins went out to leave and it happened again. turned over for around 10 seconds and it started right up. Its acting like theres air in the lines but I dont see any leaks. or smell any oil in the engine bay. It has a new lift pump. is this a sign of the Injector pump going or it could be something small. I was always told start with things that are cheap and easy then go from there.
Pour some cool (not cold, just cool) water on it if it ever leaves you stuck, cause it will eventually happen. The cool water will cool the pump down and be able to fire up again, I did that to my van for the better of 4 months, until that trick didn't work anymore. Now I have a new pump on there, and WOW! It's like driving a totally different van!
Is there somewhere that sells a "Performance" pumps for them? If im gonna spend some money might as well get something hot. I got the turbo so I want a pump to keep up. along with a future intercooler.
